Reforming the Teacher Evaluation System to Promote Teachers' Professional Development

摘要 教师评价不仅是教师任用和奖惩的依据,更是促进教师专业发展的重要手段。但现行教师评价体系存在诸多不足,比如不能帮助教师改进工作,忽视教师的个性发展,在评价标准和评价方法方面教师几乎没有发言权,评价者在评价中没有投入足够的时间,也没有经过良好的训练等。我们认为有利于教师专业发展的教师评价体系应该具有以下特点:1.评价主体多元化;2.评价具体方法多样化;3.评价内容既全面又有针对性;4. 评价过程长期性和动态化;5.评价信息反馈合理化。 Teacher evaluation is not only the basis for teachers' appointments, rewards and punishments but an important way to promote their profession development. However, the current evaluation system has many deficiencies. It fails to help improve teacher' s work and neglects individual development. Teachers seldom have any say on evaluation standard and methods and evaluators are not well trained and often do not have enough time to form fair judgment of the evaluated. It is pointed in this paper that an evaluation system beneficial for teacher' s professional development should be characterized by a diversity of evaluators and evaluating methods, comprehensiveness and pertinence of evaluation, a long-term and dynamic evaluating process and a reasonable feedback of the assessment.
