血红白叶藤Cryptolepis sanguinolenta (Lindl．)Schlecter。(英文俗名Cryptolepis)是非洲传统草药，非洲中部、东部和西部均有发现，虽为野生，但可栽培。该植物在西非传统医药中占有重要地位，如几内亚比绍民间医生用其水提取物治疗黄疸和肝炎；在扎伊尔和塞内加尔的Casamance地区用该植物根的浸液治疗胃肠疾病；在加纳用该植物根的浸液治疗各种原因的发热，
