论维新时期湖南“文明排外”思想的历史地位

On the Historic Position of Hunan's Civil Antiforeignism in the Movement of Reform

甲午战后,湖南有识之士面对帝国主义的入侵,提出了“文明排外”的主张,这种思想的产生具有一定的积极作用和历史影响,主要表现为三个方面:一、“文明排外”是湖南维新运动的指导思想;二、“文明排外”思想对清末民初相关社会思潮产生了一定的影响;三、湖南“文明排外”思想是整个“文明排外”思想体系的初步形成阶段。

After the failure of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 - 1895, with the invasion of the big powers ,some prominent men of wisdom in Hunan advocated the thought of civil antiforeignism.the production of the thought had some active and historic effect. This thought includes three aspects: firstly, 'Civil Antiforeignism' is the guiding thought of the Movement of the Reform in Hunan; secondly, this thought has certain effects on the social trend of thought at the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China; thirdly, this thought is the initial stage of the whole system of 'Qvil Antiforeignism'.
