中国版画在中国近现代史上有过辉煌的历史是任何画种所不能替代的,但是当代社会体制的变化与社会基础的丧失注定了它由辉煌逐渐走向低落;而教育的弊端、传播性的丧失、技术化的倾向和对社会现实的脱离是其自身的原因,加之电脑技术与网络经济的冲击、消费文化与大众审美的俗化,终结了版画的辉煌。

The glorious history that Chinese engraving works once saw in modern Chinese history could not be replaced by any other types of art. But the changes of contemporary social systems and the loss of the social foundation have destined them to going from splendor to stagnation while the malpractice in education, the loss of its dissemination nature, the over-technical tendency and the separation from social reality constitute the internal reason. Furthermore, the impact of the computer technology and network economy and the vulgarization of the consumer culture and mass aesthetics have put an end to the splendor of engraving works.
