恩格尔系数作为一项重要的经济学指标,被广泛用来衡量人民的收入水平。但恩格尔系数有若干适用前提,和社会经济制度、居民消费习惯等因素有密切关系。不顾这些前提和条件片面解读和应用恩格尔系数是不适当的,结论也是不正确的。

As an important economics index, Engel's Coefficient has been widely used to measure people's income. But there are many preconditions to use this coefficient, and there are close relationship to social and economic system, consumption custom of residents, etc. Not taking these preconditions and situations on account in understanding and applying Engle's Coefficient must be not proper and the conclusion must be not correct.
