台北101大楼是目前世界第一高楼,它不仅是技术上的挑战,更是文化及艺术上的挑战;本案在都市设计手法上,企图展现台北信义计划区的磁铁效应。以都市枢纽(Hinge Block)的功能运作,基于独创的都市街道为核心,向四周发射出不同的动线网络;结合生态自然、艺术展现、都市休闲及生活便利等多功能,以创造最适合台北市多雨炎热的新内部都市生活形态—Indoor City Life。本案企图将此种都市美学,藉由点、线、面、体的伸展扩张,使台北市成为新的生命城市。

Situated in Taipei Xinyi Planning District, Taipei 101 is the world top high building. Its construction not only means a challenge on technology but also on cul-ture and art. From the angle of urban design technique, this project intends to present the magnetic effect of that district. Centering around the functional operation of urban high block, different active networks radiates all around. In light of diverse functions of natural ecology, artistic revelation, urban leisure and good services,t he designers create a new indoor city life, which isq uite conformed with the rainy and burning hot weather of Taipei, and make Taipei a new life city composed of points, lines, surfaces and volumes by ur-ban aesthetics.
