On the integration of traditional compiling of local chronicles and official mainstream learning

地方志的形态演变与不同时期的政治统治需要相适应,受到官方主流学术的支配和影响。盛世的修史与修志往往是同步的。方志修纂大多采用自上而下的官修形式,统一的编纂体例,在编修中重视援引国史编纂的方法和要求。

The evolution of the compilation and revision of local chronicles fulfilled the need of political ruling in different historic periods and at same time was dominated and influenced by official mainstream academic idea and practice. In flourishing ages, it synchronized with the compilation and revision of national history. Local chronicles were compiled and revised with unified style by relevant official organizations from top to bo, drawing reference of the methods and demands of compiling national history.
