On the Merits and Demerits of MARK Format for the Current Periodical Description

期刊著录是当前不被十分重视的一个问题,随着网络时代的来临,期刊著录存在的缺陷越来越明显,如何适应时代的需求,使期刊著录得到进一步的完善,是广大期刊工作者面临的一个新课题。在简述国家文献编目的标准化历程的基础上,分析了当前期刊著录MARC格式存在的优缺点。

Nowadays, only a little attention are paid to the periodical description, and along with the coming of the network times, the faults existing in the periodical description are more and more obvious. How to fit in with the requirements of the times and make the periodical description further perfect is a new subject for the periodical workers. Based on briefly expounding the history of the standardization of national literature cataloging, this paper analyzes on the merits and demerits of MARK format used in the current periodical description.
