In this paper, the properties of different kinds of mixed surfactants are briefly intro duced and the stress is put on the theory and recent developments of mixed surfactants. Practical effects and the highlight of the utilization of mixed surfactant systems with various combinations including those of anionic-nonionic, anionic-cationie and the homologous series in oilfield chemistry are also pointed out.
