A New Double-S Curve Model for Improving the Converse-U Theory

J·G·威廉姆逊关于区域经济差距走势的倒U字型观点是正确的,但由于其方法的不完善,引起了争论。发展这个理论,必须引入双S曲线模型,它能清晰地全面地反映和回答两区域差距形成的主要原因、机制和变化趋势,准确指导区域间协调发展,把倒U字型观点建立在科学基础之上。

The converse-U theory proposed by Williamson about the region-difference trend is acceptable, but faultiness exists in its methodology, which has caused much debate. The present paper proposes a new Double-S Curve Model to develop the Theory. This new model could clearly reveal the main reasons, the mechanism and the trend of the gap between two regions, which could make the converse-U theory more effective for guiding harmonious development among different regions.
