On the Theoretical Structure of Production Functions——A Discussion with Zhou Fang

本文指出由周方同志关于生产函数的理论构架的公理化系统,不可能得出C—D函数是唯一的生产函数的结论。本文证明了C—D函数是唯一的生产函数的充要条件是要素弹性为常数。文中构造了两类满足上述公理化系统而替代弹性可以不是常数的生产函数。

In this paper, we show that the axiomatic system of production functions proposed by professor Zhou Fang is not sufficient to deduce Cobb-Donglas function to be the sole production function, and we also give two rinds function that can satify the axiomatic system, but its elasticity of subs- titution is not constant. In addition we prove that Cobb-Donglas function is the sole production function if and only if the elasticities of the factor 's output is constant.
