Development, Features and Effect of ASEAN's Economic Diplomacy

经过30多年的发展,东盟已在政治、经济和文化上形成一个密不可分的整体,并以集团的力量在对外交往中谋取共同利益。在中国-东盟自由贸易区计划启动后的今天,适当考察东盟经济外交的形成和特征,对我国制定相关政策是很有裨益的。

Focusing on economic construction, the ASEAN members have caught up with the international chances through economic communications. Thus the ASEAN gradually gets to be tightly linked as a complete unit politically, economically and culturally, and gains benefit from economic communications with the outside. ASEAN's economic diplomacy achieves great success during the past 30 years. At present, China and ASEAN are working hard on building up China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Therefore, with the initiative of the plan of China -ASEAN Free Trade Area, studying on the development and features of ASEAN's economic diplomacy is helpful for China to map out the strategy to accelerate the establishment of China -ASEAN Free Trade Area.
