Taking or Transcending——On the Existence and Development of the National Culture in the Context of the Globalization

全球化已经成为21世纪世界社会经济、科技文化发展的必然趋势,对民族文化的存在和发展带来了重大的影响,对此出现了两种不同的评判态度,一是乐观论,一是悲观论。我们认为中华民族文化历来具有海纳百川的气度,也具有超稳固的规约性,在全球化浪潮中,只有坚持拿来主义的原则,临危不惧,在全球化的世界交流中,才能保持中华民族文化的独立性,中华民族文化也才能生存、发展。

Globalization us a destined trend of the development of the world's society, economy, science and technology, and culture, and it has great effect upon the existence and development of the national culture. Upon this, there are two judgments, one of which is optimistic and the other pessimistic. We hold that the Chinese national culture has had the capacity and tradition to incorporate all different schools of thoughts, and simultaneously the super solid conventionality. Therefore, only if we face up to the situation by adopting the principle of 'taking' can we, in the globalization communication, ensure the independent status of the Chinese national culture, and its further existence and development.
