Analysis of the Causes of 'Fairy Cavedwellings' Stories during the Wei-Jin and The Southern and Northern Dynasties

魏晋南北朝时期,描写仙洞奇遇的小说大量出现,成为一个重要的题材,我们称之为洞窟小说.对于此类小说的产生,究其因,则不得不从先民原始思维、道教神仙思想、现实危机三点入手.于其中我们能够体会到,这一时期民众对现世的生存自由和永恒的生命存在的苦苦追求.

“Fairy Cavedwellings” stories made repeated appearances and became an important subject during the Wei-Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Analysing the causes, it regarded that there are three aspects: primitive thoughts of ancestors, the ideology of Taoism immortality and realistic crisis. From the stories, we could understand the reason why the people perseveringly pursue the freedom of the real life and the eternal earthly life at that time.
