黄河是我国的第二大河,流经青海、四川、甘肃、宁夏、内蒙古、山西、陕西、河南、山东9省(区).据统计,黄河流域面积约为83.44万km2,流域总人口约1.3亿,总耕地面积达1800余万km2,占全国耕地面积的18%.70年代末和80年代初,黄河流域各省(区)的水污染事故频频发生,严重破坏了黄河生态系统,导致河道中的水生物濒临灭绝,其"罪魁祸首"便是:工业污染!
Yellow River, the mother river for Chinese People, owns only 2.4% of the total run-off into rivers inChina, but feeds 12% population, irrigates 15% cultivated land of the whole country, and supplies 20% ofthe clean water used by 50 cities. However, because of the irresponsible discharge by the highly pollutingenterprises along the riversides, 80% of Yellow River’s courses have been polluted and the river’s ecosystem has beendestroyed. At the same time, it has directly threatened the drinking water supply to millions of people. Who hurts ourmother river?
