On the Innovative Abilities of Artistic Imagination and Scientific Imagination

想象是人类创新思维的重要形式,具有自由、开放、跳跃、飞翔、浪漫、跨越、形象、活跃、多变、夸张、神奇等心理特征。想象活动是人脑中原有意象在外部刺激和内在动机的双重作用下与现场客观物象的交互作用中进行的;想象分为文艺想象与科学想象;文艺想象是文艺家创作的源泉,蒋孔阳先生提出的"幻想不是想象,但想象却离不开幻想"的观点是不正确的。科学想象是推动科学发明与技术创新的巨大力量。

Imagination is an important form of human being's innovative thinking, which is of psychological features of freedom, openness, romantic,vivid, changeable, exaggeration and magic. The imagination is conducted by the (original) image under the double influences of external stimulation and intrinsic drive, interactive with the actual object. Imagination has artistic imagination and scientific imagination. The artistic imagination is the source for the literary artists' creation. Mr. Jiang Kongyang suggests that 'Illusion is not imagination, but imagination cannot be dispensible from illusion', which is not correct. The scientific imagination is an enormous drive for promoting scientific invention and technological innovation.
