Overview of the 4G Mobile Communication System and Key Technology

目前,飞速发展的移动通信技术已经历了三代,第三代移动通信系统(3G)技术可以提供前两代产品不能提供的各种宽带信息业务。然而,由于3G系统本身所具有的局限性,特别是3G沿用了2G网络为中心的结构,移动终端不能够智能化。因此,世界通信业界的专家们已将目光更远的放向了“后3G技术”(IMT-2000Beyond),于是在3G尚未商用化之时,4G就出现了,并大有取代3G之势头。

The mobile communication technology, which progresses very fast at present, has been developed for three generations. Although the 3G Mobile Communication system can support a few multimedia services, the intelligence of it is hold back due to its inherent limitation that specially follows the structure of 2G system. So the 4G system has been taken into consideration, some characteristics and key technologies on the 4G are analyzed and compared in this paper.
