US Economic Sanctions and the Economic Security of Developing Countries

经济制裁作为美国干涉发展中国家内政的重要工具,其目的是向广大发展中国家推行美国民主价值观念,维护美国的世界霸权地位。冷战结束后,虽然这种霸权主义行为越来越为国际社会所谴责,但美国仍频繁地对许多发展中国家实施经济制裁,严重威胁这些国家的经济安全。发展中国家只有加强经济安全意识,积极参与经济全球化进程,不断促进本国经济发展,才能真正提高抗击美国经济制裁、维护国家经济安全的能力。

As a crucial tool of US intervention in the internal affairs of the developing countries, the purpose of economic sanctions is to promote US democracy around the world and protect its hegemony. Although it has been condemned forcefully by the international community, the US has continued to put economic sanctions on many developing countries after the end of the cold war, thus it has done a great harm to the economic security of the developing countries. Only by joining the economic globalization process and developing their own economies continuously, can developing countries enhance a true ability so as to save their economic security from US economic sanctions.
