A global review of different tool materials in dry cutting and their physical performance are given in this paper, and also promote the features of them used in different fields. A short compare of cutting performance among them is used to illustrate their suitability in dry cutting. It points out that dry cutting is a high efficiency and clean technology, and it has a broad application foreground.
