以往对例证的研究,多停留在宏观的经验层面。本文认为,例证应该看作一个典型范畴。动词义位的例证,应强调其中心功能--生成性。备选例证形成一个层级装置,词典中予以凸显的,应该是中间层--语法语义层。

After surveying the process studies of examples, we argue that examples should be viewed as aprototype category and the focal function of verbs’ examples is to help generate sentences. Among the hierarchy ofpotential examples, the middle level—syntactic & semantic one — should be given prominence.
