独立学院是我国高等教育领域中出现的新事物,与其母校相比,它在教育性质、类型、使命、职能、地位、培养目标和人才培养模式上均有较大的不同。当前独立学院由于一味仿效母校,在办学过程中表现出了与其性质不相符的诸种错误趋向。根据当前技术发展、高教结构和人才结构等形势,独立学院走向本科技术教育是一个正确的方向。

As a new emergence, independent colleges are evidently different form their mother universities in educational nature, type, mission, function, status, aim and patterns of talent cultivation. Simply imitating the ways of the mother universities have caused various erroneous phenomena in the process of school running. The right course to take is to develop four-year technological program adapting to the present situation of technological development, higher education structure and structure of talents.
