Patterns and Characteristics of the Reduplicated Verbs in Xingshi Yan(型世言)

《型世言》共使用15式257例动词重叠,单音节动词重叠“V一V”式最多,双音节动词重叠“AABB”格式最多,“AB—AB”格式次多。《型世言》有的动词重叠带补语,有的带“着”等助词性成分,但极少带“儿”尾,名词性成分作宾语时全部后置。弄清《型世言》动词重叠的这些特点,对于我们研究动词重叠的发展史具有重要意义。

There are 15 verb-overlapping patterns and 257 verb-overlapping examples in Xingshi Yan(型世言). The pattern “V一V” had the most examples of all the monosyllabic reduplicated verbs. The pattern of “AABB” had the most examples and the pattern of “AB一AB” had the second most examples of all the dualsyllabic reduplicated verbs. There can be complements or auxiliary words such as Zhe(着) after some of the reduplicated verbs in Xingshi Yan(型世言), but we can seldom see Er(儿) after the reduplicated verbs. The object was certainly put behind the reduplicated verbs when it acted as a noun or a noun phrase. It had important value for us to study the historic developing of reduplicated verbs to know the characteristics of the reduplicated verbs in Xingshi Yan(型世言).
