Recently, how to promote knowledge transfer efficiently and effectively in and between organizations has been paid more and more attention by managers and scholars. The past literature suggested that interpersonal trust could facilitate knowledge transfer between two parties, through making knowledge senders and knowledge recipients more willing to take part in knowledge transfer. In this paper, we argue that the interpersonal trust will play a positive role not only in the above-mentioned effect, but in making knowledge transfer much easier for participants as well. Furthermore, using the perspective of symbolic interactionism, we elucidate that interpersonal trust could make knowledge transfer much easier in three ways as follow: (1)enhancing the mutual communication between two parties; (2) promoting senders specifying the areas of their knowledge; (3) facilitating the positive attribution.
