This paper presents a comprehensive introduction of the production process of motion picture DVD photo-disks and the characteristics of their different types,including:one side with single layer,one side with double layer,double side with single layer and double side with double layer.Among them,the one side with single layer DVD-5 made through a mature technology,is the usual type with a storage capacity of 4,7 GB suitable for storing one cine-film.DVD is encoded with MEG-2,allowing both successive line scanning and jump line scanning,but is difficult to yield excellent TV signals even when successively line scanned,since DVD systems are usually designed according to jump line scanning.The paper emphasized also the enormous market and efficiency of these photo-disks.
