外语音像资源库主要由素材数据压缩系统、数据存储中心、数据传输网络和用户终端组成.音像资源库是把计算机技术、媒体制作技术、网络技术和现代教学方法有机结合起来的一种教学辅助系统.介绍了广东外语外贸大学音像资源库的构建和应用情况,该资源库系统的建成和应用对丰富教学内容、提高教学质量、实现教育技术现代化起到了积极的作用.

Foreign language audio-visual databank consists of data compressing system,data store center, transmitting network and users' terminal. The audiovisual databank is new teaching aid system, which well combined technology of computer, multimedia and network with modern teaching method. The paper introduces application of foreign language audio-visual databank in Guangdong Foreign Studies University. The establishing and applying such system will play an active part in enriching teaching content, improving teaching quality and realizing modernization of educational technology.
