用对氯甲苯和镁粉在碘引发下反应得到的格氏试剂和邻氯苯基氰在三甲基碘硅烷催化下缩合,得到沙坦类抗高血压药物的中间体2-氰基-4'-甲基联苯,收率89%。

2-Cyano-4'-methylbiphenyl, an intermediate of antihypertensive agent, was synthesized by condensationof 2-chlorobenzonitrile with the Grignard reagent of 4-chlorotoluene using (CH3)3SiCl as catalyst in 89% overall yield.
