E. E. Cummings, one of the most famous among contemporary American poets, was renowned for his unique style. O Sweet Spontaneous, chosen from his first collection of poems Tulips and Chimneys, praises the earth for its natural and unconstrained characteristics. The present paper analyzes the poem from stylistic perspectives, i.e. from the aspects of rhetorical devices, lexicon, typography, phonology, syntax, etc. and tries to help the reader get a better understanding of the poem.
