The Skills of English-Chinese Translation —— Ellipsis

英汉两种语言,由于表达方式不尽相同,翻译时既要将词类加以转换,又要在词量上给予删减。省略法就是在翻译时按意义上和句法上的需要减少一些词来更忠实通顺地表达英语源语的思想内容,使汉语译入语内容和结构上更简洁,读起来更通顺、更吸引人。

Owing to the different expressions between English and Chinese,both exchange and deletion in words may be used in translation.Ellipsis is one of the ways to omit some words necessarily in order to convey the English original truthfully,so that the Chinese translated version can be simpler in contents and structure,more attractive and more coherent to read.
