Being the middle management layer of the education system in Britain,LEAs' role and status in education system has changed several times,heading for the brilliancy and then tending over comedown. The article mainly analyzes a series of policies that British Government imposes on LEAs,and consequently changes of LEAs' role and status in education system,which can help us deepen our comprehension of our national system of education administration.
