泰戈尔的艺术理论初探

A Tentative Study of Tagore's Art Theories

艺术理论是泰戈尔美学思想中最重要的部分。他在继承印度古典诗学传统的同时又受到了西方文化的影响,从而提出了独到的艺术观点,因而在印度美学史上占有重要地位。在对其主要观点:艺术起源、艺术本质、艺术与美、艺术与想像力等方面作了比较细致考察的基础上,发现泰戈尔独到地提出了:艺术起源于人的精力过剩,艺术的本质就是自我表现,艺术美是和谐,想像力是艺术创作的动力等观点。泰戈尔的艺术理论在印度美学史和西方美学史上都具有独特的价值和意义。因而,研究泰戈尔的艺术理论,对于我们了解印度艺术思想以及印度美学史的发展具有重要意义。

Artistic theories are important components of Tagore's esthetic opinions. He inherited the classic tradition of poems in India and at the same time he was influenced by Wwestern cultures, as a result, he could put forward original opinions on arts, so his artistic theories occupied an important place in the esthetic history of India. Through exploring his main opinions: the origin of arts, the essence of arts, arts and beauty, arts and imagination, this article finds distinctive opinions of Tagore: arts originate from the surplus of human being's energies, the essence of arts is the expression of oneself, artistic beauty is harmony and imagination is the motive force of artistic creation etc. Tagore's artistic theories have distinctive values and they are of significance in the esthetic history of India and Western countries. Therefore making a study of Tagore's artistic theories is important to learn about artistic theories and the development of esthetic history in India.
