在英语教学中,对学生素质教育的培养越来越受到重视。谚语是民间广为流传的一种较为定型的富有意义的语句。在以学生为中心的主题教学模式中运用谚语,可以帮助学生提高写作技能及口语表达能力。

Improving students' quality is much stressed in English teaching. Proverbs are relatively set expressions full of meanings which are widely circulated among the people. The author introduces proverbs into the student-centred and theme-based models, aiming at helping students contact western culture and finally improving their language competence.
