Professor Gao Qing-hai is a model of theoretical innovation of our time. In the life of his philosophical research and inquiry, he has carried out four significant theoretical innovations. The first one is the challenge to dogmatism, questioning the doctrine of “a single piece of steel”; the second one is the reformation of the Textbook System, pursuing the unity of subject and object; the third one is the advocacy of the Way of Thinking of Practice Viewpoint, propelling the renewal of philosophical idea; the fourth one is the re-understanding of man, inquiring the Philosophy of Species.
