翻译选择受到社会、文化、历史、意识形态等多方面因素的制约与操纵。作为翻译家的鲁迅对拟译文本、翻译方法以及翻译标准的选择与他的文化、政治立场紧密相连。鲁迅在翻译过程中的诸多选择符合近代中国文化转换的历史要求,折射出鲁迅建构新文化的总体目标,因而本身也是一种文化选择。

Choice in translation is restricted by such factors as society, culture, history, and ideology. As a translator, Lu Xuns choices in source texts and translation methods and translation criteria are greatly influenced by his culture and political views. Lu Xuns choices in translation comply with the trend of cultural transformation, reflect his purpose of constructing a modern Chinese culture, and hence are a choice of culture .
