《礼记·礼运》“由此其选”新解

《礼记·礼运》中“由此其选”句,历来解释不一,然终未为达诂。其症结在“其”和“选”的理解上。本文提出了与前贤时人不同的新解:“选”为动词,挑选、选拔之义;“其”作主语,复指“禹汤文武成王周公”。合起来释为:由于这样,他们被选拔出来。

On the “由此其选”in 《礼记·礼运》,this paper holds the new view which is dltterent from the view of the ancient and modern scholars ;“选”is a verb,and its meaning is ' select,choose'; “其” is subject, and it refers to “禹汤文武成王周公”. So the explanation of “由此其选”is that they are selected because of this.
