徐锴古音观考论

On the ideas of Xu Kai's ancient Chinese phonology

徐锴并不像钱大昕等人说的那样,完全不懂古音。关于古音,徐锴有如下看法:古音质,古者反音为疏;旁纽,所谓古字音与今小异;古今音异;叶韵。现在看来,这些观点在徐锴当时还是较为“先进”的,实属难能可贵。另外,徐锴对形声字与其声符之间语音关系的探索对段玉裁的“凡同声者必同部”有启示作用。

Qian Daxin said that Xu Kai knew nothing about ancient Chinese phonology, it is not the case. We believe that Xu Kai had progressive ideas of ancient Chinese phonology through our research. For example, Duan Yucai gained a good deal of enlightenment from Xu Kai's phonology exploration between pictophonetic characters and phonetic sign.
