Educational Thoughts of Shen Shushi, an Educator in Ancient China

春秋时期楚人申叔时充分强调人性教育的重要意义,强调教育对人性的塑造作用;在教学方法上,重视“教”与“导”、“辅”的相结合的教学方法,并最早提出了对受教育者进行行为教育的思想;强调德育教育,明确教育的目标和任务,这些思想在中国古代教育史上具有重要地位。

Shen Shushi, an educator in Chu State during Spring and Autumn Period, emphasized the great significance of humane education and the instructive effects of education on humanity. According to his teaching methodology, he combined teaching, guidance and tutorship together. He also, for the first time, put forward the thought of implementing the behavior education to the educated. He stressed moral education, and also defined the education aims and tasks. His thoughts are highly evaluated in Chinese ancient education history.
