Stereotype and individualization are two different arts of characterization. The art of characterization went through a process from stereotype to individualization. At the beginning of the stylistic development, the English novels in the 18th century inherited early literature achievement-stereotype and displayed the trend of individualization, which set the basis of arts in characterization for the later development.
