英汉翻译中的文化因素

THE CULTURAL FACTORS INENGLISH-CHINESE TRANSLATION

翻译是一项跨语言、跨文化的活动,其目的是为了交流信息。而此种交流的基础是交际双方必须了解源语和目的语的文化背景,否则便无法做到相互理解。通过对中西文化特点的分析,强调在英汉翻译过程中,除了要考虑语言层面的因素之外,还要注重对文化因素进行分析,这样,才能最大限度地避免错译或误译,实现真正的交流目的。

<Abstrcat>As a cross-linguistic and cross-cultural activity, translation aims to communicate information.And the basis of this communication lies in the common understanding of the cultural backgrounds of the target language as well as the source language.By analyzing the cultural features of English and Chinese,this thesis mainly suggests that in the process of English-Chinese translation,we should emphasize the analysis of the cultural differences so that we can avoid mistranslating as much as possible and realize the true purpose of communication.
