An Analysis of GMMEP Featuring English Immersion Education

全英商务教学模式(GMMEP模式)是广东外语外贸大学结合新的国内外市场的需求,经过多年探索和努力,开发出来的一套复合型全英商务教学模式。GMMEP模式属于双语教学范畴,它本着教育要为国家经济建设服务,要与市场需求相结合的基本理念,为我国高等教育走向国际化,培养复合型人才探索出了一条切实可行的路子。

GMMEP stands for Guangdong Foreign Studies University (GDUFS) Major & Minor English Program, which is a jointly combined program with a major and a minor developed by GDUFS to meet the national need for business-majors capable of being engaged in international competition. GMMEP falls within the scope of bilingual teaching perspective. It is designed to develop the students into competent graduates with capabilities in various fields after graduation rather than confining themselves to using English proficiently only. The paper argues that GMMEP has proved to be a feasible and effective way to develop international-oriented talents, which is innovative in China's higher education system.
