摘要
在传统的外语教学模式下,语言技能训练多是针对考试而设计,没有明确的交际目的,学生所获得的语言知识和语言技能难以转化为真正的语言能力。而浸泡式教学法注重对学生外语实际运用能力的培养,不以应试为出发点。它以目标语为媒介来教授非语言知识课程,语言的习得作为副产品而获得。在这一模式下,学生外语能力和学科水平的提高是相辅相成的。实践证明,浸泡式教学法是为企业及科研机构培养优秀复合型人才的有效途径,更符合社会发展需要。
The paper discusses the features of the English immersion approach, which aims to help the students acquire their professional subjects by using English as a medium rather than a goal. In addition, it touches upon the advantages and challenges of the approach as an effective way to produce graduates with proficiency in the English language and the expertise for enterprises and research institutions.
