摘要
全英教学以浸泡教学法为主,浸泡法所倡导的以目标语为媒介,通过可理解语言材料进行以意义交流为目的的学习活动是培养外语复合型人才的有效途径。在商务类课程教学活动中,师生以目标语为媒介进行大量的交际活动,如果我们称之为过程的浸泡的话,那么在这一过程中,还有一种浸泡是不容忽视的——工具的浸泡。在全英教学中,学生应该使用单语词典解决语言学习中的困难。词典查阅本身就是一种无声的交际。使用单语词典对培养学生的英语思维、自然习得语言知识可以起到双语词典无法替代的作用。本文拟通过单语词典和双语词典在处理搭配信息时的特点的分析、对比,探讨使用单语词典对全面实现全英教学目的的作用。
The immersion approach, which means teaching a subject course by using the target language as a medium rather than a goal, has been widely practiced in the second language acquisition. The paper points out that within the English immersion context, the instrumental immersion-using monolingual dictionaries-is of great importance to the students who are expected to develop proficiency in the English language. It makes an analysis of the lexical treatment of collocation in monolingual dictionaries and demonstrates how monolingual dictionaries, better than bilingual ones, facilitate the learners to well perform within their English immersion context from the perspective of proficiency development in the target language acquisition.
