摘要
张謇当年为南通纺织专门学校、南通医学专门学校题写的校训具有深厚的文化性及强烈的针对性。今天南通大学校训源自纺、医二校校训,其核心思想做人要“忠”、“善”,做事要“通”、“精”,随着时代的发展,具有了更加丰富的内涵。只要真诚地实践,校训就能够转化为通大人的精神。
The mottos, given by Zhangjian to the former Nantong Textile School and Nantong Medical School nearly 100 years ago, are of rich cultural information and clear orientation. The motto of Nantong University today originates from those of the two former schools, the core of which is to advise people to be 'honest' and 'kind' in society and 'expert' and 'fine' in everything as well. With the development of the times, it has now richer connotation. The motto will be converted into the spirit of the people of Nantong University so long as it is honestly practiced.
