The idea of 'Buddha doctrine is not religion and philosophy' was brought forward by OuYangJian who was a Buddhism master at modern times. This paper discusses OuYangJian's thinking about 'Buddha doctrine'. Based on debate some questions such as 'how to understand correctly', 'how to judge impersonality', 'how to develop in reason', the thesis studies the cause, value and academic signification of the idea of 'Buddha doctrine is not religion and philosophy'. In author's opinion, we must differentiate correctly the relationship between 'Buddha doctrine' and 'Buddhism', apprehend completely the idea of 'Buddha doctrine', then appraise it according to fact. The idea of 'Buddha doctrine is not religion and philosophy' is beneficial apocalypse to us and deserve to carry forward.
