摘要
本文通过"破"的个案研究,指出汉语里一部分动词发生了类似的变化,即这些词由典型的动词变化为非典型的动词或者说变化为形容词。从先秦汉语到现代汉语,"破+名词短语"经历了重新分析:由"动词+宾语"这一动词短语演变成"形容词+名词"的名词短语。由于"破"的这一转变,"破"像其他形容词一样在动补结构里常作下字。
This paper investigates po and also shows that some other verbs have undergone similar changes as po:these verbs have evolved from typical verbs to less typical verbs or even adjectives.The phrase'po+NP'has been reanalyzed from Old Chinese to Contemporary Chinese,i.e.,the verb phrase[V(po)+N]_(VP)has changed into a noun phrase[adjective(po)+N]_(NP).Because of this change,the typical adjectival behavior of po now occurs in the V_2 position in the resultative verb compounds(V_1+V_2).
