U.S.-Japan Relations in Retrospect and Prospect

制约与扶植、顺从与崛起的周期性交替写就美日之间的国家关系史.今后仍将是,日本积极充当美国称霸世界的马前卒,并谋求实现与美国争锋的大国梦想;美国一方面扶植日本为自己的霸权战略服务,另一方面时刻警惕日本挑战自己的霸主地位.总的趋势是,美日关系将向平等合作方向发展,日本实力上升,扩张野心膨胀.

Senior Researcher of the Institute for Europe-Asia Social Development, Center for Development Studies of the State Council and Guest Researcher of CPDS. Periodical rotation of constraint and propping up, obedience and rise composed the history of U.S.-Japan relations. Japan will actively act as a pawn of U.S. domination of the world in order to realize its own dream of a big power competing with the U.S. On one hand, the U.S. fosters Japan for serving its own hegemonic strategy and on the other hand, is always on the alert against Japan's moves in challenging U.S. dominative position. But the general trend is that U.S.-Japan relations will move forward to equal cooperation. Japan's national strength will keep on rising, while its ambition be inflated.
