The principle of voltage and reactive power control and the modes of realization were introduced, and the characteristics of various modes and the relevant problems were analyzed. The development direction of realizing voltage and reactive power control and the method for realizing voltage and reactive power control of whole power network optimization in the future in power system were looked ahead.
