In the process of editing, according to the regularities of journals, it is vital to establish scientific editorial ideology , decide on the main direction of disciplines and select frontier subjects so as to make academic journals perform special media functions in the diversity of periodicals. The goal of editors for academic journals should transfer from the conventional role of choosing contributions to the role of collecting information in science and technology, mastering the development of academics, formulating excellent topics, collecting and obtaining good contributions and also reinforcing the dominant position of editors and the value of media building. In this way the academic quality can be improved and high-quality journals can be produced. The academic journal is characterized by the subjects feature, column feature and special topics feature. In editing, editors should do well in special topics column, generalized column and create featured column in order to form brand columns of their own. Editors of periodicals assume the important task of cultural creation and construction , so they should present the readers with valuable fine works of academics and produce brand columns and well-known periodicals.
