The polymorphisms of seven microsatellite loci BM1818, BM1258, BM1443, BM1905, BM302, BM4505 and CYP21 were detected in 240 Beijing Holstein cows. The PCR amplified products of microsatellites were detected by non-denatured (neutral) polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The number of alleles/polymorphic information content/ effective numbers of alleles/heterozygosity of BM1818,BM1258, BM1443, BM1905, BM302, BM4505 and CYP21 were 4/0.3869/1.7693/0.4348, 5/0.5923/2.9121/0.6566, 8/0.7114/3.9012/0.7437, 6/0.5921/2.8244/0.6459, 6/0.7122/3.9989/0.7499, 6/0.7144/4.0124/0.7508 and 7/0.6154/2.9805/0.6645, respectively. The results revealed the greatest genetic variation in BM4505 and the lowest in BM1818.
