The effectiveness of vegetation in soil erosion has been known,Increasingly, vegetationhas been applied to protecting soil from erosion,However,relationships between plant and erosionare not simple as expected,Generally speaking,plant is helpful to hamper the development of soilerosion,But in some cases vegetation trends to increase rather than decrease soil erosion,There-fore,the peper has further discussed the roles of vegetation in soil erosion and the relations betweenvegetation and eresion,and suggested some possible research framework in this field. Besjdes,thispaper has also intreduced the concept of geotex tile,analyzed the functions of geotextile in soil ero-sion control,and studied the mechanism of geotextile mimicking the salient properties of vegetationthat help to reduce erosion.
