The working principle of permeability gradient analysis meter JHST- IV , developed by Jianghan Petroleum Institute , is presented. It divides the testing core into 4 section, and the length of the middle two intervals is fixed. To determine the damaged depth of cores, the damaged end is not necessary to cut by this method. It can be used in the selection of drill -in fluid formulations for reservoir protection.
